Friendly - The Outside Dog

When people ask me why I run so much, I tell them, "I'm an outside dog. If you keep me inside too long, I will tear up your furniture. Then you'll look at me like I'm the problem." 

And running has been a good activity for me because no one really expects you to stop and talk to them if you're on a run. It gives me time to myself, outside. Especially with earbuds in, listening to EDM for faster runs and Vance Joy radio station or podcasts for slower runs.

Then, after I run, I feel more calm to sit in one place and visit. To be "friendly." And I typically need to move around for 30 continuous minutes to get that edge of agitation off of me. 

But the runs are also my community time. I try to never run so fast where I can't wave happily, give a peace sign or a thumbs up. And even take an earbud out so I can say hello, hear that person's response, and to give one back to them so they know I heard them. 

And while there are times that I'm lost in my own little world on a run, and don't see the wave or hear the honk, I'd just want people to know I'm just an outside dog. And I'm friendly :)
